Hi Mike,
I think that your terms of comparison are not correct. I drive a motorcycle (BMW R1200 GS, if interested) but do not repair motorcycles, apart from basic issues (tire pressure, oil level...) 
The notion that a Linux Desktop User should become a skilled SysAdmin is erroneous, in my humble opinion.</description>
